Unchanged memories

Falling, not once, not twice, but umpteen number of times to learn the bicycle remains fresh in my memory. With fear filling the mind, excitement beaming in eyes and enthusiasm in heart, I remember how I brushed aside the little injuries to master the art of maintaining balance and moving ahead.

I can still recall my delight when I made progress from being just an ambler to that of a rider.

Today, with the same fear in mind, excitement in eyes and enthusiasm in heart, I learnt my first lesson in four wheeler driving. And I can imagine the delight in store for me when I make progress from being a rider to that of a driver.

Some things in life never change.

    Hi Somu,

Yes, learning bicycling was thrilling. I remember how I struggled to do ‘scissors’. Later when that become easy progressed to ‘bar’ and atlast used the seat when I had grown enough.

Car driving isn’t half as exciting as cycling… Somehow, cycling has that flying experience… unmatched!:D

Car driving lessons are horrible compared to learning bicycle.Eventhough you fall many times, you would be excited to ride in a bicycle, but in car ,the teaching person will make you fall many times by being in your seat mentally.Do make a post after 10 days of driving experience.:-)

inna achi naina? template peruthuduchu?? nalla thaan keethu!

Isnt learning to drive a car better?? at least u wudnt fall… LOL

ever thought of this irony?? while learning a bicycle we try to ride it straight but we find it hard.. but in car, we try to put an ‘S’ but find it easier to drive it straight… hehehe…

ur senses are all piqued up by the time u finish ur first drive on a four wheeler, arent they? 🙂

u are on high alert, and sensitive to the smallest changes on the scene!

    Kaps,
Thanks. Infact it is the Minima template. Just used my teeny tiny HTML skills to make modifications.

    Neels,
True. It’s like having control over a massive machine !!! So, when are you coming to chennai “AGAIN” ?

  12. Somu on

    Prabhu,
Ha ha ! The scissors ? I used to do that too… For sometime I used to practice with BSA Champ… and once I gained confidence, moved to SLR. Reaching the ground with my feet was always a challenge for me though.

    Nithya,
Maybe maybe not. I really don’t know how car driving is going to be… Though I agree that cycling was like flying !!!

    Lakshmi,
Forget being on my seat mentally, he has a parallel control, and I don’t even know if I am or he is moving the car ;o)

Definitely there would be a post on this at a later time :o)

    Anand,
Aamaam ba… Putcha template potein… Nalla keedhula ?

Neenga sollurathu sari thaanba… Cyclea vutta kezha voondurum… aana caru, ginnunu oduthu !!!

  14. Somu on

    Ganga,
Yeah. Just started and it sure is like unleashing some unseen power from within. Quite an experience.

And thanks… My finger is recuperating. There is a little bit of swell though, which shud subside in a day or two’s time.

    Sophie,
I was all by myself most times… and moreover I was kinda running behind few people… ahem.. So din’t really seek help from any.

Presume am just months away from being the happiest person myself. My road sense is kinda pathetic… So even without any mischief, I can get few pedestrians into trouble ;o)

  15. Somu on

    Harish,
Oru vaasagam sonnalum thiruvaasagam !!! A cycle moving in the corner of the road, a pedestrian walking along the platform and just about everything gets noticed…

  16. Ram.C on

    enjoy the driving lessons, somu…
